Slackforce Surfaces Brings Live Salesforce Data Into Interactive Slack Experiences

New AI-powered capability lets teams turn business data and conversations into live dashboards, reports, presentations and interactive experiences inside Slack

Salesforce-owned workplace platform Slack has introduced Slackforce Surfaces, a new capability designed to transform data from Salesforce and other connected enterprise systems into rich, interactive experiences directly within Slack.

The launch represents the latest step in Salesforce’s broader vision of making Slack a conversational, AI-powered interface for business applications. Salesforce co-founder Parker Harris had previously predicted that users may eventually “never log in to Salesforce again,” a vision the company refers to as Slackforce.

Slackforce began with Slack CRM, which brought native customer relationship management capabilities into Slack, followed by expanded Slackbot functionality that allows users to read, write and take actions across Salesforce through MCP.

With Slackforce Surfaces, Slack is now extending that concept beyond conversational responses. Users can ask Slackbot in plain language to turn business information into a dashboard, report, executive presentation, calculator, microsite or other interactive experience.

The resulting Surface is designed to remain connected to the underlying data rather than functioning as a static export or snapshot. As Salesforce information changes — such as when a deal progresses, a customer case is closed or campaign figures are updated — the Surface can automatically reflect those changes.

Turning conversations into working interfaces

Slack said the capability addresses a gap that has emerged as AI has made it easier to generate information but has not always made that information immediately useful to teams.

Business decisions frequently take place inside conversations, while the relevant context may be distributed across Slack messages, Salesforce records and other enterprise systems. Creating a dashboard, executive presentation or report traditionally requires users to move that information into another application.

Slackforce Surfaces is intended to keep that process within the conversation.

Users can describe what they want to understand or accomplish, and Slackbot determines how the information should be presented. There is no fixed template, allowing the system to generate different formats depending on the task and intended audience.

Teams can subsequently interact with the Surface, filter information, explore records and messages, comment on findings and take action. Surfaces can also be pinned to a Slack channel, turning them into a persistent shared workspace rather than a one-time response buried in a conversation.

The company said Surfaces operate under users’ existing permissions, meaning the information presented is governed by the access rights already associated with the connected systems.

Slack highlighted several early use cases for the technology.

Sales teams can convert Salesforce pipelines into prioritised views that highlight stalled or at-risk opportunities. Marketing teams can turn go-to-market plans and campaign information into executive presentations incorporating targets, proof points and required approvals.

IT teams can use Surfaces to monitor AI adoption, token consumption, spending and return on investment, while service teams can transform Agentforce Service support queues into live triage boards showing SLA breaches, case severity and customer tiers.

Finance teams can similarly turn forecast, budget and variance data into interactive views designed to help leadership quickly identify financial tailwinds, risks and potential headwinds.

The company said the underlying Salesforce records — including pipelines, cases, campaigns and accounts — can therefore be repurposed into dashboards, presentations and reports without requiring a separate business-intelligence workflow.

Slackforce Surfaces is available today to customers on Enterprise+, Business+, Pro, Legacy and Free Teams that have Slackbot enabled for their workspace.

Slack said the live-data feature will begin rolling out in October, adding the ability for Surfaces to automatically reflect changes in their underlying data.

The company described the development as a shift from AI simply providing answers to AI creating living interfaces for teams to understand information and act on it together, keeping the work within the flow of conversation rather than moving users between multiple applications.
