LME approves Kutch Copper brand for futures contract delivery

Kutch Copper Limited (KCL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL), has received London Metal Exchange (LME) certification for its ‘Adani Copper’ Grade-A cathodes. The approval allows Adani Copper cathodes to be delivered against LME Copper futures contracts, with warrants eligible for issuance from July 10, 2026.

The listing allows the copper brand to be traded on LME, the world centre for the trading of industrial metals. The certification process involves quality assurances covering chemical composition, shape and weight, alongside responsible sourcing protocols. The listing enables eligible Adani Copper cathodes to be placed on warrant in LME-approved warehouses, which can be used as collateral.

For LME, the addition of Adani Copper increases the exchange’s deliverable base. The listing confirms the brand alongside other international copper brands, establishing the Group as a producer of refined copper.

The Kutch Copper facility has a production capacity of 0.5 million tonne per annum. It is a single-location custom copper smelter located at Mundra. The facility represents a $1.2 billion investment, according to the release.
