ACT Sees Aprecomm Deal as Validation of Its AI-powered Broadband Bet

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly central to home internet services, ACT Fibernet is seeking to position itself at the forefront of that shift, saying the acquisition of its technology partner Aprecomm by global WiFi solutions company Airties underscores the growing relevance of the technology behind its SmartWiFi platform.

The acquisition marks a milestone for Aprecomm, whose AI-powered software has been at the heart of ACT’s SmartWiFi service, a system designed to optimize home networks, diagnose connectivity issues automatically and improve internet performance without requiring customer intervention.

For ACT, one of India’s largest broadband providers, the deal is more than a corporate transaction involving a technology partner. Company executives see it as validation of a strategy that has increasingly relied on artificial intelligence to deliver more reliable broadband for households and businesses, where stable internet connections have become essential for work, streaming, online education and a growing ecosystem of connected devices.

“Our partnership with Aprecomm has been instrumental in shaping our SmartWiFi solution, enabling us to deliver a more intelligent and seamless connectivity experience for our customers,” Ravi Karthik, ACT’s Chief Growth Officer, said in a statement. He added that the company expects to deepen its collaboration as Aprecomm enters its next phase under Airties, while continuing to invest in AI-driven innovations.

ACT said SmartWiFi would remain a core element of its connected-home strategy, with further investments planned in AI-powered network management and customer experience as broadband providers compete to differentiate themselves beyond speed alone.

The company did not disclose financial details related to the acquisition, which was announced by Airties.
