Darwinbox Unveils AI-Native Human Capital Management Platform

Human Capital Management (HCM) technology company Darwinbox has unveiled Darwinbox Cortex™, an AI-native HCM platform that the company says marks a fundamental shift in enterprise HR software by embedding artificial intelligence into the core architecture rather than layering AI capabilities onto existing systems.

The company announced that Cortex is launching with a select group of pilot customers and strategic technology partners, including Microsoft, Slack, and Glean, positioning the platform as what it describes as a new category of enterprise software capable of understanding, reasoning and acting on organisational context.

Unlike conventional HCM platforms that primarily function as systems of record for employee data and HR transactions, Cortex has been designed to continuously interpret workforce signals, anticipate organisational needs and execute actions within enterprise governance frameworks.

With Cortex, we reimagined the entire HCM experience from the ground up and pushed the boundaries of what AI can do for HR through a series of innovations, including the first Context Graph in the category. At the centre of the platform is what Darwinbox describes as the industry’s first Context Graph—a live reasoning layer that connects organisational structures, HR policies, workflows, employee relationships and historical decisions. Combined with a Signal Layer, the platform continuously identifies emerging workforce trends, such as shifts in employee engagement, compensation disparities or organisational changes, allowing HR teams to intervene before challenges escalate.

The platform also introduces the Cortex Agent Platform, enabling enterprises to deploy AI agents capable of executing HR workflows while operating within existing organisational permissions, compliance policies and governance frameworks. Darwinbox said these agents can automate routine HR processes and be customised to address enterprise-specific workforce challenges.

AI capabilities beyond traditional HR

Cortex extends its AI capabilities beyond traditional HR applications through integrations with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Copilot, Slack and Glean, allowing employees and managers to interact with HR services directly within the collaboration tools they use every day. The platform is being introduced with a select group of global design partners, including Visteon Corporation and Transcarent, both of which are working with Darwinbox to apply AI-native capabilities to complex workforce management scenarios.
